Where it all began
How it started
We started Fortell with a simple belief: the people closest to development challenges should have a voice in measuring what works. Too often, impact data comes from those easiest to reach—not those who matter most.
In 2023, we travelled to Kenya with CMMB to answer a simple question: could avatar-based interviewing actually work in the field? We went to Matomo—where within a few kilometers of developed areas, you find communities with no sanitation, no electricity, no water.
These are the people that traditional surveys miss. And that's why we built Fortell.
